Good morning everyone, please begin with your morning prayer.
Students, please write the following in your Writing copybooks. Parents may point out each word as students look and copy in their books. No hand holding or writing for them, this is not done in class. Parents please assist them in reading each word.

Please listen to the following story:
Students think about the story. Who was in this story? What is the name of the Angel that came to Mary? How did Mary feel? God was going to bless Mary with a baby. Do you know who that baby is? Mary said YES. Do you say YES when Mommy or Daddy asks you to do something? What would happen if Mary said NO?
Think about it. Listen to the story again and answer the questions (verbally; this targets emergent literacy & oracy, listening skills, responsibility, critical thinking & investigating, and social, intellectual, and emotional development skills). Send me a voicenote with what you think.
Go back to your writing book and look at the words you wrote. Look at the words "Mary" "mother" "mummy" and "mum". Even the "month" of "May". There is a letter making a sound that all of these words have. Can you find the letter that makes the sound "mmmm". Take a coloured pencil and circle all of the letters in your writing that makes that sound ( this means they circle every letter "m" in their writing. Do not tell them to find "m". Let them look for the letter that makes the sound "mmmm" and encourage to make the sound "mmm" for every "m" that is being circled)
Sensory letter writing activity:
Parents please give your child a plate or lid with salt, dirt, rice, oats, or flour. The goal is the grainy sensory input together with hand eye coordination and letter recognition. Students are to use the index finger of their writing hand to write the letters in the salt(or substitute) that were used in the writing, beginning with "m". Let them pick a favorite letter in this process and send a picture of it.
Drawing book:
In the drawing book or on a clean page to be added to their book, let students fold their page in half to create a line down the middle. Draw lines to the bottom for them and let them write "mother Mary" on the left hand side and "my mummy" on the right hand side. Let them draw and colour a picture of mother Mary on the left and draw anf colour a picture of their mother on the right. Lucas has provided an example and would love to see their art:
