Wednesday 18th March, 2020

Good morning everyone, let's stand for the national anthem.
Morning prayers.

Everyone take a deep breath in, hold it for a few seconds. And breathe out whoosh like a whale. Stretch your hands way up high, deep breath in. Stretch your hands out to the side and down to your toes, breathe out whoosh like a whale. Now find a wall and face the wall. Put your hands against the wall. On the count of three you're going to push and hold up the wall with all your muscles (from eating healthy foods). One, two, three, PUSH. (Keep backs straight, push using upper body strength). Let go, hands up, shake them out, and freeze. Get ready, one, two, three, PUSH as hard as you can for as long as you can.
Now let's do 20 jumping jacks and count to 20. Let's do ten squats, but we're counting to ten in Spanish.

Deep breath in, hands up, stretch up high, hold it. Release your hands bring them out and then down, roll your shoulders down and breathe out slowly. One more time. Take your seats. Time to wash hands, but check this out first:

Grace after meals.

During this time of Lent, there are many people preparing to join the church or become more involved in the church. These people belong to a group called RCIA. A long time ago, only those people in RCIA prayed and fasted and gave things up for Lent. After some time, other people in the church joined them on this journey. Hundreds of years ago it was decided that the whole church, all of us, would fast and pray and give things up for Lent. So as we talk about getting ashes for Ash Wednesday, reading about Jesus in the desert for 40 days, thinking about how to REPENT (remember that word?), we remember also that the Archbishop said to give up something, take up something, and give something away. In class we did some activities on taking up something and praying. Now I would like you to think about giving something. Some of your mommies and daddies might give money, food, or clothes to people who don't have those things and it may be harder to help others at this time when a lot of people are staying away from others. What are some ways YOU can still give something to others?

Afternoon snack & Water.

I think you all have some great ideas and I would like to add another idea to your list. This is a really good time to show those people on their journey to join the church that we support them and encourage them. As the church is not celebrating any Masses, special ceremonies for these RCIA people have been canceled. That might make them sad. Why don't we make them a card? You can draw a picture, color a picture, and write "Have a good day" or "Welcome" or "Jesus loves you". Draw a smiley face, a rosary, a cross, friends playing, etc. Use your imagination. Each of you should do your card in your own way so nobody's card looks like anyone else's. At the end of the week mommy or daddy or another adult can drop it off at their nearest Parish to be distributed for the RCIA candidates. I can't wait to see all the creativity and talent! Have a great day everyone.

Afternoon prayers.
